Celebrating Raffel Pages’ anniversary, a memorable night marked their 100th year as leaders within the hairdressing industry
The Raffel Pages anniversary took place on May 8th with a very special gala held in the spectacular Museu Marítim of Barcelona. This significant occasion brought together prominent figures from the hairdressing sector, alongside the dedicated teams and valued clients of Raffel Pages. Furthermore, authorities and members of the media also attended this memorable evening, all under the inspiring motto: “One hundred years styling souls, creating beauty, inspiring the future”.
A Century of Style on the Catwalk
Journalist Ruth Jiménez expertly hosted the event, which notably featured an exclusive fashion show by Lola Casademunt, in close collaboration with Raffel Pages. This unique catwalk presentation vividly recreated the 100 years of fashion and hair that have characterised the esteemed Catalan brand since its inception in 1925. Consequently, it took attendees on a journey through the key trends, culminating in an iconic display that summarised a century of history for a truly unique Spanish firm.
Decades of Iconic Hair and Fashion
The carefully curated casting featured twenty models, each representing a specific past decade, from the flapper fringes and stylish bob cuts of the roaring twenties to the exciting versatility and strong individuality of the twenty-first century. The elegant thirties shone with their sophisticated glamour, whilst the forties celebrated the undeniable strength of the modern woman. Moreover, the fifties had a distinct femininity showcased in wide skirts, and the vibrant eighties boldly embraced both colour and significant volume.
Nieves Álvarez Honours a Styling Legacy
The renowned model Nieves Álvarez took centre stage as the show’s main protagonist, gracefully opening and then closing the entire catwalk presentation in a truly spectacular tribute to the enduring stylistic legacy championed by Raffel Pages. Founded back in 1925, the Raffel Pages firm has established itself as a true benchmark within the hairdressing sector, both nationally across Spain and increasingly on an international level. Indeed, this significant celebration not only revisited the numerous great successes of the esteemed brand, but it also poignantly paid homage to its visionary founder, Raffel Pages himself, a truly key figure within the company and a noted pioneer of emotional hairdressing, who sadly passed away in 2021.
The Enduring Influence of Raffel Pages
As a respected ambassador for L’Oréal Professionnel and the insightful founder of the Museum of the History of Hairdressing, Raffel Pages undoubtedly left a profound and lasting mark on the entire sector. Among his many significant contributions, one of the most notable milestones was the establishment, in 1992, of the prestigious Instituto de Perfeccionamiento Raffel Pages. This influential training centre has been absolutely pivotal in the ongoing professionalisation of the hairdressing trade and in the effective transmission of a core philosophy firmly based on excellence, continuous innovation, and genuine sensitivity. Since its creation, thousands of dedicated professionals have been expertly trained by adhering to these fundamental principles.
The Next Generation: Carol and Quionia Pages
Currently, his daughters, Carolina and Quionia Pages, have successfully taken on the generational baton, skilfully keeping his original spirit very much alive with a clearly renewed vision firmly focused on the future. Leading more than 65 successful salons across Spain and with exciting collaborations in international markets such as France and Portugal, the firm continues to confidently set trends and consistently prioritise exceptional quality, comprehensive training, and cutting-edge avant-garde approaches.
A Meeting Point of Hairdressing History
The Centenary Gala was demonstrably much more than just a simple celebration; it served as a vibrant meeting point between the rich past, dynamic present, and promising future of the hairdressing profession. Consequently, it powerfully reaffirmed the enduring position of Raffel Pages as a truly iconic brand, boasting a unique and inspiring legacy alongside a global projection that feels more alive and relevant than ever before.
Celebrating with Industry Leaders
The memorable event was proudly supported by the presence of major brands such as L’Oréal Professionnel, Redken, Kérastase, Shu Uemura, Good Nails by RP and Lola Casademunt, who notably collaborated on the spectacular fashion show, collectively creating a truly unique and celebratory atmosphere for the entire evening.
